Every time the
Every time the urge comes, wait it out; that is – don’t do or take anything, just do nothing. It might sound silly because you aren’t doing anything active per se, but it works almost better than anything else. You would be strengthening your mind to say no to smoking this way, and I happen to think that is the best way. You can attempt to stop smoking in the same way as you would handle being on a diet. When you are so hungry for a stick of cigarette to smoke, get into doing something else or eating something that would not quite have the same harmful effects. Youd be surprised how many Americans have successfully stopped smoking this way. Hanging around people who smoke is a sure way to get back into the habit. How about you change your friends, especially if they are not as interested in quitting smoking as you are? Spend more time around people with healthier habits, and reorient your mind, will you? You got yourself into smoking, you can get yourself out; but don’t go thinking that it is a piece of cake, because it isn’t. You will have to change a whole lot of your daily living habits if you are looking to make it stick, otherwise the feelings will come rushing back, and this time you might not be able to resist it.
