There are many techniques that can identify a colorectal cancer on time. Some can even detect and remove abnormal growths in your lower intestine before they get a chance to become cancerous. If you are able to do this, then you can be amongst the many people who can claim to have endured and survived a colon cancer. Yes, lots of people continue to survive it every year. Cancer, it seems, is breathed in by citizens from the very atmosphere. Every year, millions of cases are recorded all over the world. The United States alone records as many as one hundred thousand diagnoses that are purely colon cancer. Little wonder the death toll is so high. Diagnosed annually in the United States are upward of a hundred thousand colon cancer cases. Added to this, there is another forty thousand cancer diagnoses which are tumors in the rectum. With these numbers, it can only be expected that there will be lots of casualties. But, this is no excuse for anyone to rest on their oars. It is easy to assume that colon cancer is not as rampant in Canada as in the United States because the recorded figures are not as much. This would be inaccurate though, because the US does have a larger population, hence the larger numbers. The Canadian Cancer Society oversees cancer situations and records each year in Canada. In the United States, the American Cancer Society does the same. Canada records each year, about 20,000 new cases of colorectal cancer, while the US records a hundred thousand.
